EMG Musicman MM5TW-X Bass Guitar Pickup

The EMG X Series bass pickups have an exceptional open nature to their overall sound. This is due to a newly designed internal preamp which allows for more gain to come from your amp and instrument,
rather than from the preamp. The effect of this new design provides more headroom and overall body while still maintaining the clarity and response that EMG’s are renowned for. The lows will be rock solid, the high-mids will shine through and the treble will be sweetand full. The X Series covers all techniques while retaining superior dynamics. Models available for bass feature EMG’s  revolutionary (patent pending) Solderless Install System. This system puts the player in complete control by simplifying the process of installation and the upgrading of existing pickups.

The "Twin" version of our Music Man Bass replacement is know as the MMTW. Based on our triple coil 89 Guitar Pickup the MMTW is two pickups in one, single-coil and dual-coil, and both are totally noiseless. The MM5TW uses our popular ceramic and steel design for a nice transparent, not abusive high end along with a low-end that is just plain thunderous. Similar to our MM5CS the TW has wide spread bobbins (1 inch) combined with a large coil surface area that gives the MMTW a most amazing bass tone. The single coil pickup is the same as our Jazz Bass (J) Pickup, strong in mid-range. This is the perfect pickup if you're planning on building a bass with only one pickup in the sweet spot. The MM5TW comes with a push-pull pot that can be used as either a volume or tone control, or you can substitute a dpdt switch.
