This bass represents Geoff’s new design Graphite Composite and wood neck hybrid. This bass affords a great maple neck feel and profile, while maintaining many of the desirable characteristics of Geoff’s graphite neck design. We have allowed some playing on this bass for feedback, and now you can own one of the first ones. No damage to be seen. There may be minor signs of handling. Get the deal on a great playing bass with this one!
G. Gould Hybrid Series basses combine the stability, consistency and articulate sound of Gould’s graphite-neck basses with the more traditional feel, comfort and tonal warmth of wood. A combination of graphite/epoxy laminates in the maple neck add significant expressive power to what looks and feels like a traditional neck.
The satin-finish maple neck and 24-fret maple fingerboard provide a rigid feel, with lively resonance and presence. The active electronics package (EMG X pickups through an 18-volt EMG-BTS EQ system) offer ample tone control, headroom and sonic range. Together, you get a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” of a 5-string bass!
