Description

Roger Sadowsky set himself the task of further improving an already highly successful bass design by making a number of detailed improvements. Together with the electronics he developed, he succeeded in elevating the renowned J/J bass sound to a new level, so that today we can speak of a typical Sadowsky tone: never harsh, with deep, defined, and by no means muffled basses, present but not intrusive mids, and sweet and airy highs. All the characteristics of this modern bass sound can also be found in the MetroLine Will Lee Artist Line, known as one of the best and most sought-after session players (Late Night / Late Show with David Letterman, Horace Silver, George Benson, Bette Middler, and many others). This 5-string version—shown here in a matte Bora Blue Burst Transparent Satin finish—features a slightly smaller J-style (chambered) body made of American alder, a slightly slimmer American maple neck with a Morado (Pau Ferro) fingerboard, a preamp specially tuned to Will Lee’s specifications with an additional midrange boost at 500 or 800 Hz for more punch, a J/J pickup configuration, Vintage Tone Control, treble and treble boost, ultra-lightweight Sadowsky tuning machines, and the special Sadowsky bridge for quick string changes. This Artist model is manufactured exclusively in Germany. All basses weigh approximately 4.0 kg, making them ideal for bassists seeking a modern bass sound as well as a lightweight solution for the stage.
