Finished in Honey Burst over an ash body, this Fender Custom Shop ’59 P Bass Special delivers big, focused low end with punch and clarity no matter how hard you dig in. The factory P/J pickup configuration gives you classic Precision authority with added bite and versatility — unmistakably P-Bass first, but with the option to dial in some J-bridge midrange on the fly.
The chunky ’59-style Oval “C” neck is the standout: bold, resonant, and incredibly alive in the hands, with a 9.5” radius, bone nut, and medium jumbo frets for modern playability with vintage feel. We feel this particular one is a great combination of ash and maple, with a subtle mid scoop and springy response when compared to the alder versions.
Finished in NOS lacquer with chrome/nickel hardware, tortoise pickguard, black dot inlays, and vintage decal. Built specifically for us here at The Bass Place.
